Yesterday, April 21, 2006, Mayor Cox and the Greenwood City Council proudly proclaimed April as Sexual Assault Awareness Month in the City of Greenwood, recognizing the powerful theme, "25 Years Stronger: Looking Back, Moving Forward."
We were honored to stand alongside the incredible team at Our House, Inc., who have spent 25 years providing hope, healing, and support to survivors in our community. According to the Mississippi Violence Experiences Survey 2025, 2 in 5 adults have experienced sexual violence, a reminder of why this work matters so deeply.
To every survivor, you are seen, you are valued, and you are not alone.
We stand with Our House, Inc. and all organizations working tirelessly to create a safer, stronger Greenwood.
If you or someone you know needs help, please reach out to Our House, Inc. or call the National Sexual Assault Hotline: 1-800-656-HOPE (4673).
